For local churches to have an effective ministry, they need not only trained men but also trained women. Recognising this need in the churches, CLTC has established a wives' training programme.
It is often said that behind every successful man is a supportive and understanding wife. Thus, part of the aim in the Wives’ Programme is to develop their understanding of this aspect of their role for their future ministry.
The programme is offered over a period of three years of residential studies. It is currently conducted in Pidgin.
The programme aims to develop:
- The role of women in the life of the church and the community.
- A spiritual relationship with Jesus Christ to become mature in Christ.
- A balanced understanding of the Word of God and how to share this with others.
- Practical skills to enhance family life and assist in practical ministry activities.
- A strong family relationship so that the home becomes an example of Christian care and love to the church and the community.
- A peaceful living at promoting harmony and unity within their own families and their neighbours.
- Unity and oneness within the family and community.
- A concern for the task of World Missions and the place of prayer in reaching unreached people groups.
- Good teaching skills appropriate for Children's, Youth and Women’s Ministries in Melanesia.
- Both Biblical and practical courses.
